Trap Update…

We are pleased to announce that on September 23rd our new trap house was certified by delegates from the New York State Amateur Trap Shooters Association. We are very thankful for all the members that volunteered time and resources toward the building and setup of our new trap house. Without your help this certification would not have been possible!

Since trap shooting resumed in late August we have had a great turnout and great weather for shooting. We have also seen many new faces in attendance. We encourage you to stop by and check out Trap Saturday mornings from 10:00 am – 12 noon. Even if you aren’t up for shooting stop by and say ‘hello.’ We are a social group! We hope to shoot until the end of December, weather permitting.

Now that our field is certified, we hope to begin holding routine registered shoots. Our first two shoots will be Big 50 events on October 9th and 23rd. Big 50 events are a great introduction to competitive trap shooting because you can shoot regardless of if you are an Amateur Trap Shooter Association member or not, and fees are reduced! We then plan to hold a Fall Doubles Marathon on November 6th which will consist of 100 pairs. For more information on our registered shoots you can view our events on ShootATA.com – Cooperstown Sportsmen’s Association.

Last, regardless of if you are a seasoned shooter or someone who has never shot a gun before we encourage you to stop by the club Saturday mornings 10:00 am – 12:00 noon for Trap and Sundays, 9:00 am – 12:00 noon for Skeet. We are always looking for new shooters and enjoy introducing new people to our sports!
